The Challenge

Heat is the enemy of torque.

Every 10 °C rise in winding temperature halves the insulation life of an electric motor. Copper losses in the stator, eddy currents in the rotor, and friction in bearings all generate heat that must be conducted out of the motor housing. When thermal resistance is too high, the motor derates, delivering less torque and lower efficiency, or fails prematurely. In high-speed motors above 15,000 RPM, bearing lubrication and winding impregnation quality directly determine the acoustic signature and service life.

HeTone supplies VPI and trickle impregnation resins, high-temperature bearing greases, and stator-to-housing interface materials from Henkel Loctite and specialty lubricant partners, matched to the insulation class (B / F / H), duty cycle, and IP rating of your motor platform.

Winding impregnation

VPI and trickle resins (Class F / H rated to 155–180 °C) that lock windings, fill air gaps, and reduce inter-turn thermal resistance by up to 30 %, boosting continuous torque output without increasing motor size.

Bearing & stator thermal

Bearing greases rated for continuous operation above 120 °C and stator-to-housing gap fillers that move heat into the cooling jacket, reducing hot-spot temperatures and extending L10 bearing life.

Duty-cycle engineering

Material selection aligned to the insulation class, speed range, and thermal duty cycle your motor must certify against, with accelerated-ageing data mapped to IEC 60034 standards.
