A string inverter dissipates 50–150 W of heat inside a sealed IP65 enclosure exposed to direct sunlight, rain, and temperature swings from −25 °C to +60 °C, for a warranty period of 20 to 25 years. IGBT and SiC switching devices push junction temperatures past 150 °C during peak generation. The thermal interface materials and encapsulants that move this heat to the heatsink must survive thousands of thermal cycles without cracking, pump-out, or loss of adhesion.
HeTone supplies field-proven gap fillers, potting compounds, and conformal coatings from Henkel, Bergquist, and Parker Chomerics, selected and validated for the long-life reliability that solar OEMs must guarantee. We match material selection to your enclosure design, gap tolerances, and IEC 62109 safety requirements.
